Get started with Tri For It! Coaching



Included in Monthly Plans (4 week blocks)

  • Review of your training background, medical history, time and equipment available for training and your goals.
  • Weekly individual customized training plan taking into account your goals and lifestyle.
  • Premium Training Peaks Account.  With a premium account you are able to move workouts as needed to fit your schedule.    Athletes also use Training Peaks to log workout data. Receive your workouts in daily emails or on your mobile phone with Training Peaks.
  • Weekly telephone/personal meeting with Coach Rich – up to 30 minutes/week.
  • Unlimited email questions.  Emails will generally be answered within 12 hours and absolutely within 48 hours.
  • Fitness Tests.   At Tri For It! We utilize a variety of fitness tests based upon the equipment you have available to you.  We use the results of these tests to make sure your workouts have the appropriate intensity.   Each month you will have at least one test workout in each discipline.
  • Video Swim/Running analysis – have Coach Rich analyze your video of you running or swimming.
  • Access to Spinervals Lending Library (borrow one of Coach Rich’s Spinerval DVD’s) Spinervals is the original indoor cycling workout series.  Each Spinervals workout is geared toward a specific skill set allowing you to focus on the area of cycling that you want to improve.
  • All plans include a Tri For It! running cap and technical shirt.

Additional services available

  • Shadow Workout – have Coach Rich join you on one of your runs or rides to discuss technique, strategy, nutrition.
  • Computrainer Spin Session/Fitness Test – Bring your bike to Coach Rich’s spin studio, hook it up to the Computrainer and ride.  In addition to the Computrainer  3D courses, we have a variety of Ironman Real Course Videos including Kona, Coeur d’Alene, Wisconsin, Lake Placid and Australia.
  • Open Water Swim – meet Coach Rich on the shores of Coon Lake in East Bethel for an open water swim.  Practice starting, sighting and other open water skills.  Coach Rich will accompany you either in the water or on a kayak.   Bring your bike and practice T1.

Coach Rich's Coaching Philosophy

I want to work with you to develop and implement a training plan that not only safely helps you achieve your goals, but fits into your life.

Each athlete is different.  There are no “off the shelf” training plans here.  The training for each week is constructed based upon your particular goals, strengths, need for improvement, time available and prior experience.

Training is more than just working out.  It is learning and developing the skills necessary to increase performance and making your race day enjoyable.  I draw not only on my experience but the latest scientific research and training methods to give you the skills and confidence necessary to cross the finish line.
